Zimbabwe is cradled between two great African rivers – the Limpopo in the south and the Zambezi in the north. Zimbabwe has an incredible wealth of landscapes,
wildlife and a rich cultural heritage going back millennia. Landmarks such as the Victoria Falls (the most expansive curtain of water in the world), and the remote, beautiful Mana Pools National Park have earned UNESCO World Heritage Site status for the vital role they play in the preservation of Africa’s natural and cultural assets. Zimbabwe’s largest national park, Hwange, is home to some of southern Africa’s last great elephant, buffalo and sable herds and plays an integral role in a network of southern African conservation areas.

November to March is generally the best time for tours in Benin, as the weather is cooler, drier, and more predictable, making it ideal for outdoor activities and photography. The annual Voodoo Festival happens on 10 January each year. The FROST team is privy to 'insider' information about special pre- and post-festival celebrations.
April-May can still be good for photography, but the heat can be challenging.
May to October offers a different experience with lush landscapes, but the rain can disrupt travel plans.
Festivals & Events: Voodoo Festival and Gaani Festival. Contact the FROST team for more details on festivals.
Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, offers an exceptional canvas where the mighty Zambezi River meanders through ancient floodplains and towering acacia trees cast shadows over pristine pools. The park’s diverse ecosystems host a vibrant array of wildlife, from majestic elephants and elusive wild dogs to the elusive sitatunga. You’ll find endless opportunities for capturing dynamic scenes of animals in their natural habitat, dramatic sunsets over the river, and the rich textures of the lush floodplains.
Victoria Falls, one of the world’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders, offers a spectacle of sheer power and beauty that is a must-see for anyone. Known locally as “The Smoke That Thunders,” this colossal waterfall cascades over a dramatic cliff, creating an endless mist and rainbows that dance in the sunlight. The surrounding landscape, with its lush rainforests and the mighty Zambezi River, provides an ever-changing canvas for dynamic shots. Whether you’re shooting the falls in full force during the rainy season or capturing the serene beauty of the surrounding landscape in the dry season, Victoria Falls promises a treasure trove of breathtaking imagery.

This tour was an incredible introduction to the region and so different from what we've experienced with you in Ethiopia's Omo Valley, Kenya, and Namibia. It's truly unique and not a trip one cannot simply "Google" - we appreciated the seamless logistics, prompt email replies, and material to keep us informed and dreaming pre-departure.
