Cultural & Wildlife Photographer and Photo Tour Leader
Dylan Carvalho

Dylan Carvalho is a multilingual wildlife photographer and guide, fluent in German, English, Portuguese, French, and Spanish. His work blends conservation, culture, and adventure, bringing guests closer to both people and wild places across the globe.

“In 2020, just after completing my military service in Switzerland, I made the leap into the world of guiding and conservation. I enrolled in the Ecotraining field guide program, where I spent a full year learning how to interpret the natural world through the lens of a wildlife guide in Kenya and South Africa. This hands-on education opened doors for me, leading to an internship with painteddog.tv, where I took part in real-world conservation work as well as offering virtual safaris to our audience across the globe.

Over the last three years, I’ve worked as a freelance guide and photographer, blending my passion for wildlife with a curiosity for culture. I’ve managed to explore all six major continents, guiding and photographing in some of the world’s most remote environments. Whether documenting shamans in Sumatra or chasing elusive cats in the Himalayas, I’ve gained a wealth of experience in remote, high-stakes environments that have pushed both my limits and perspective.

For me, the real magic lies in the people, whether it’s the trackers I learn from, the local communities I photograph, or the guests I guide. Speaking five languages helps me connect with multiple cultures in a meaningful way, and my goal is always to offer my guests a rich, authentic, and unforgettable experience.”
